A family Classic, the Raft & Rail combines two of the areas iconic experiences into one seamless adventure. After your scenic train ride up the Nantahala gorge, you’ll take a fully-guided trip down the 8 miles of playful Nantahala whitewater! Visit the Nantahala River Rafting to learn more about the playful Nantahala River. Equipment Furnished: Raft, paddle, PFD and paddling jacket. Children must weigh at least 60 pounds OR be at least 7 years old to raft. Arrive wearing your rafting clothes. Suggested rafting clothes are: Shorts, t-shirt and shoes that will stay on your feet. No flip-flops or sandals unless they have a heel strap. Bring a change of clothing, dry shoes, a towel and money to purchase snacks, drinks, photos, or souvenirs. (Storage will be provided for personal belongings while you are rafting.) Your party will be shuttled back to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad parking lot at the end of your adventure. Allow a full day for the train and adventure. Trips go rain or shine.
