Kids Ride Free - May 1st - September 30th
All aboard for family fun—Kids Ride Free is back! From May 1 through September 30, children can ride FREE on select Diesel excursions when accompanied by a paying adult in Coach or Open Air seating. It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty of the Smokies without breaking the bank. Whether it’s your child’s first train ride or a family tradition in the making, this is one adventure you won’t want to miss!

Local residents of Jackson, Swain, Graham, Haywood, and Macon counties in NC can now receive a discounted local fare! Good for Coach Class on the Nantahala Gorge and Tuckasegee River Diesel excursions departing Monday through Thursday year-round except October. Adults can ride for $29 and Children (2-12) can ride for $18. Price does not include applicable taxes and Historic Preservation Fee applied at checkout. Discount limited to max of 4 in party. Proof may be requested. Valid Diesel Only. Excludes nonprofit train events, fundraisers, licensed specialty events or special event trains, and adventures (rafting, zip lines, jeep).
